State Rep. Curry Todd has returned to the legislature for the first time since his arrest on drunken driving and gun charges.

The Collierville Republican did not address his Oct. 11 arrest upon joining the proceedings of the Fiscal Review Committee on Wednesday morning. Todd left through the back of the hearing room afterward and did not speak to reporters.

Republican House Speaker Beth Harwell of Nashville announced earlier this week that Todd had resigned as chairman of the House State and Local Government Committee but that he did not plan to give up his legislative seat.

Todd was arrested in Nashville after failing a roadside sobriety test and refusing to take a breath test. A loaded .38-caliber gun was found in a holster stuffed next to the driver’s seat.
